Lightning Talks are live events where sociologists provide mini-lectures / presentations on a contemperary issue. Virtual attendees get to both attend the presentations and interact with the speakers immediately following their presentation and even ask quetions. These talks are currently free to attend and are designed to last no longer than one hour.
The format for our Lightning Talks are each speaker, one faculty and one graduate student, gives a 15 minute talk on a given theme, from your own perspective, related to their research and/or esperience. After each has presented, the audience gets a chance to dialogue about the topic and ask questions.
