Preliminary Program & Conference Information

THE PRELIMINARY PROGRAM AND MEETING INFORMATION: PSA OAKLAND CONFERENCE 2007

A) PAYMENT INFORMATION: REGISTRATION AND MEMBERSHIP

If you are listed in the program and you will be attending the 78th annual meeting in Oakland, you must pay registration fees. Pre-registration fees are cheaper than if you pay at the door.

Also, if you are a sociologist (either a student or faculty member) and you live in the Pacific region (AZ,HI,WA,CO,UT,CA,NV,NM,WY,MT,ID,OR, and BC or AL in Canada} you must also pay membership dues for 2007.

If you are NOT a sociologist and/or don't reside in the Pacific region, you must pay registration fees if attending, but you do NOT need to pay 2007 membership dues.

If you are NOT attending the meeting, even though you are listed in the program, you do not need to pay registration fees or membership dues for 2007.  However we encourage you to become a member or renew membership.

You can pay ONLINE or you can DOWNLOAD a membership form and mail it to the PSA Offce.  The Deadline for the cheaper Pre-registration payment is March 5, 2007

Check the Index first to find the number of the session or sessions you are listed in. Then click on the appropriate day for the session number or numbers you are participating in.

C) INFORM THE PSA OFFICE OF ERRORS, TYPOS, SPELLING MISTAKES, TITLE CHANGES, ETC. Please, Please.  We want the final program to be as accurate as possible.

D) COUNCIL AND COMMITTEE MEETING TIMES IN OAKLAND
If you are on the PSA Council or a PSA Committee, CHECK for the time of your meeting and a list of all Council and Committee members, including those recently elected and appointed.

E) INFORMATION ON HOTEL RESERVATIONS and OAKLAND.
You can book a room at the hotel ONLINE.

F) APPLY FOR A STUDENT TRAVEL AWARD OF $100.
If you are a student, either graduate or undergraduate, and you are listed on the program as a presenter and you will be attending the meeting, it is easy to APPLY for a possible travel grant. 

G) SIGN UP FOR A FIELD TRIP/WALKING TOUR and support the PSA Endowment Fund
