Executive Director Dean S. Dorn's account of the history of the PSA, Seventy-Five Years of the Pacific Sociological Association 1929-2004, is now available from the PSA office.

Find out more than you want to know about the history, struggles, challenges, and successes of this voluntary association. The PSA is the oldest regional association and has had an event-filled past.

Only $15, and all proceeds go to the PSA Endowment Fund!

Call for Editor/Co-Editors Sociological Perspectives

 

CALL FOR EDITOR OR COEDITORS OF THE PSA JOURNAL SOCIOLOGICAL PERSPECTIVES

 

 

The Pacific Sociological Association is soliciting candidates for editor or coeditors of the PSA journal, Sociological Perspectives, which is published quarterly by the University of California Press.

 

The new editor or coeditors will assume the position of editor-designate in the summer of 2011 and will take over the editorial office at that time. The editor(s)-designate will be responsible for the journal commencing with Volumes 54, 55 and 56 (2011-2013).  The current co-editors will most likely be responsible for the first two issues of Volume 54 as those two issues will represent manuscripts they have accepted and are back log manuscripts from their term as editors.

 

The term of office for the editor or coeditors is three years (an extension is possible) and the applicants must reside in the Pacific Region

 

Applicants should send the following to Dennis Downey, Chair of the Publications Committee (dennis.downey@csuci.edu).  The deadline for application is February 1, 2011.

 

1) A Statement of interest and previous experience with the editorial process

2) Plans for the journal as editor

2) A statement of institutional support (assigned time, office, computer, etc.)

3) At least three letters of recommendation

4) Vitae.
