Title/Rank: Assistant Professor
Description of Duties The Sociology Department at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor in Applied Sociology, continuing academic year appointment. Preferred focus in diversity, social justice, gender and/or immigration, preferably with methods and statistics knowledge. Teaching includes introductory and advanced sociology courses and our employment relations program that includes an internship final exit requirement. Ph.D. required at time of employment, beginning August 2018. Persons who have not completed all degree requirements by the beginning of the contract period may be considered for a one-year term interim appointment at the rank of instructor. Salary is commensurate with credentials, qualifications, and experience.
Terms of Appointment: Continuing academic year (nine month) appointment; tenure eligible.

Qualifications Required: A Ph.D in sociology with expertise in Applied Sociology.
