Pacific Lutheran University: FT Visiting Assistant Professor (2 years)

Pacific Lutheran University.  The Department of Sociology at Pacific Lutheran University seeks candidates for a full-time visiting position at the rank of Assistant Professor. This is a two-year appointment beginning in 2017-18 with a possible one-year extension. The successful candidate will be a generalist with primary specialization in deviance and experience teaching introduction to sociology.

The candidate will teach six courses per academic year. In 2017-18, the courses include  Introduction to Sociology (2 sections), Deviance, Special Topics, and other courses to be determined based on department needs and the successful candidate’s interests. Commitment to and record of effective teaching at the undergraduate level is required. Additional duties include academic advising. ABD candidates will be considered.
