I. Vice President of the Association
The term of the Vice-President is for three years; during year one (the year prior to the term as Vice-President) he or she serves as Vice-President-Elect; during year two he or she serves as Vice-President; and year three (the year after the term as Vice-President) he or she serves as Past Vice-President of the Association.
The Vice-President of the Association shall:
- start their term in office at the close of the first meeting of Council at the Annual Meeting of the Association. (C. A.IV. Section 13.)
- serve as a member of Council, the governing body of the Association.
(C. A.IV. Section 2.) - assist the President in planning the program for the Annual Meeting.
(C. A.IV. Section 7.) - serve on the Program Committee for the Annual Meeting.
- not be eligible for re-election to the office of Vice-President-Elect.
(C. A.IV. Section 6.) - end their term in office at the close of the first meeting of Council at the Annual Meeting of the Association. (C. A.IV. Section 13.)
The Vice-President of the Association may:
- serve as chair of the Program Committee for the Annual Meeting, as negotiated while Vice-President with the President-Elect.
II. Vice-President-Elect of the Association
The Vice-President-Elect of the Association shall:
- start their term in office at the close of the first meeting of Council at the Annual Meeting of the Association. (C. A.IV. Section 13.)
- be elected for a term of one year, after which year, shall become Vice- President of the Association. (C. A.IV. Section 4.)
- serve as a member of Council. (C. A.IV. Section 2.)
- in the event of death, resignation, absence or inability to serve of the President- Elect, shall become the President-Elect of the Association. (C. A.IV. Section 4.)
- in the event of death, resignation, absence or inability to serve of the President and President-Elect, shall become the President of the Association. (C. A.IV. Section 4.)
- end their term in office at the close of the first meeting of Council at the Annual Meeting of the Association. (C. A.IV. Section 13.)
III. Past Vice-President of the Association
The Past Vice-President of the Association shall:
- start their term in office at the close of the first meeting of Council at the Annual Meeting of the Association. (C. A.IV. Section 13.)
- serve as a member of Council. (C. A.IV. Section 2.)
- serve as chair, ex officio, of the Committee on Committees.
